High Satisfaction Among Those Who Work in Phlebotomy
As it seems like most of my friends are always complaining about their jobs and bosses, I am so grateful that I love my job! With my Phlebotomy Training I got a job at my local hospital almost immediately after completion of the program.
Our hospital aims to do as many procedures in room as possible. For example, women who have just had a baby, keep the baby in the room with them at all times. So the first tests done on the baby such as sight, hearing and testing of the blood are done in the mother’s hospital room. The intention of this strategy was security after a newborn baby was abducted at the larger hospital in the downtown core.
Mother and baby stay together the whole time and there is no need for a nursery. When I go and do the first blood test the baby has ever had I am aware of the significance of the moment along with the anxiety of the child’s mother! I aim to keep both calm by working efficiently to prick the tiny heel and draw just what I need. Being part of these first few precious moments of life are one of the many reasons I love my job!
