 The
SIDIC Book collection contains approximately 6
thousand volumes which have been accrued over
the past number of years. They are mainly in English,
French, Italian, German and Hebrew. The biblical,
talmudic and midrashic sources are also available
in the original language.
In July 2002 the 6,000 books
of the SIDIC library were donated by the Sisters
of Sion to the Gregorian
University. It was a significant time to move
the SIDIC library since the Gregorian University
just opened an Institute for the Study of Religions
and Cultures, offering a Master's degree in interreligious
dialogue and in particular a focus on Judaic Studies.
Thus, the new Institute which
will include the Cardinal Bea Center for Judaic
Studies, together with the SIDIC library collection,
is in a position to provide superior resources
to those engaged in Jewish-Christian Dialogue.
The Gerhart Riegner Memorial Fund was established
to support the growth of the SIDIC library at
the Gregorian University. |
