 The
SIDIC Rome Documentation Center makes available to the
public a large collection of documents concerning Jewish-Christian
relations. It comprises about 6.100 entries that may
be retrieved by electronic
catalogue, now available on-line.
The Collection of these documents has
been going on since the 1960's, that is, since the time
of the Second Vatican Council, especially since the
promulgation of the declaration Nostra Aetate, in 1965.
It includes articles drawn from magazines
and newspapers, texts of lectures, material collected
in dossiers, and official declarations by both Jewish
and Christian bodies throughout the world. The documentation
also includes about 150 periodicals (magazines and newsletters),
many of which have been bound, which also go back to
the 1960's.
After having bee n
active for over 30 years at the SIDIC headquarters in
Via del Plebiscito, the documentation service moved
to the Pontifical Gregorian University in July 2002.
The Documentation Center continues to be owned by the
Congregation of the Sisters of our Lady of Sion.
It includes a collection of more than
6.100 documents mainly on paper, available at the Documentation
center. It also includes materials which have not yet
been catalogued: paper, audiocassettes, and videocassettes.
